RENEWABLE ENERGY - BIOGAS/BIOMASS ‘Made in Germany’ Seminar 9 September 2009
The latest energy statistics and the ambitious plans of the Thai Government to revamp the energy sector will serve to attract more and more imports from Germany by this sector. Therefore, supported by the "Renewable Energy Export Initiative" of the German Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce (GTCC) invites German and Thai experts and companies from the field of biogas and biomass technologies to a business seminar and matchmaking sessions in Bangkok.
Germany, as a global pioneer in the area of renewable energy technologies, has started an outstanding program to promote the renewable energy techniques, "Made in Germany". The program, is planned and financed by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, forms the framework under which the "Made in Germany" seminar and the company matchmaking are being organized by the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce together with the German Energy Agency (dena GmbH). The objective of the program is to help German companies build new business relations with the Thai market.
The "Renewables Made in Germany" Seminar will take place in the Ballroom of the Conrad Hotel, Bangkok on 9 September 2009. Well-known expert speakers will give the latest trend on biogas and biomass technologies of Thailand and Germany. Furthermore, German companies who are looking for long-term business partners will present their investment plans, products and services to the audience. In addition, Thai enterprises will have an opportunity to gain closer contact with relevant participating German firms during matchmaking sessions on 8 and 10 September.
biotecIasia believes with the support from both Governments Thailand and Germany, is the creation of an advanced way to transform the source renewable energy biogas and biomass in connection to the rapid growth of Thailand in demand for energy solutions another successful story. |

Entsorga-Enteco 2009 in Cologne, Germany
The Entsorga-Enteco 2009 was a complete success – for the organizers, exhibitors and visitors in the eyes of biotec. The exhibition invites visitors to discover the various interrelationships and provides them with information regarding the current debate on climate change and key renewable energies in the fields of Recycling Management and Environmental Technology. And it was more international than ever, with over 910 exhibitors from 28 countries.
Our target companies to visit at Entsorga include decision makers from public and private-sector disposal; municipalities, environmental authorities and politicians; industry (incl. chemical industry, paper, metal and foodstuffs); agriculture and forestry; R&D and associations in the importance of renewable energies today.
biotec identifies a Trend
The exhibits on show at Entsorga-Enteco 2009 clearly demonstrated that the waste and disposal industry is treading wholly new paths towards a complex resource industry. More and more disposal companies are becoming suppliers, securing raw material requirements for the economic cycle through recycling and supplying derivative raw materials from waste. The background to this development is, on the one hand, the ban on dumping untreated waste and the consistently rising cost of primary raw materials and fossil fuels such as oil and gas on the other. More processes than ever showcased at the trade fair focused on the recycling of waste into energy. Their technological development is distinguished by efforts to continuously raise the yield of electricity and heat through the use of techniques to recover and utilize waste heat. Methods used in fermenting biomass also showed a marked upswing. The resultant biogas is also used to generate electricity and fertilizer. The special advantage of this type of power generation is that it is CO2-neutral and thus contributes to climate protection.
Methods salvaging wood were also strongly in evidence. They ranged from crushing of forest remains and plywood, to removal of foreign bodies and pressing into briquettes or pellets, to utilization as a source of energy in wood-burning power stations. The continued advances in methods to recover recyclable materials from waste were particularly prominent. There is hardly a material of worth that cannot be recovered in its pure state through highly developed optical, electromagnetic, ballistic or mechanical separation methods. Valuable raw materials such as copper, aluminum, bronze and plastics can thus be recovered to a stable quality and reintroduced into the economic cycle.
Entsorga-Enteco 2009 offered the most comprehensive and varied fringe program so far in the trade fair’s history of biotec. The top-flight specialist’s events were all very well attended. The offering ranged from public congresses, symposia and seminars to special shows on a wide variety of environmental topics. In biotec’s opinion numerous visitors used this information and communication platforms as a perfect venue to augment their trade fair visit.
We from biotecIasia highlighting a strong professionalism in the key renewable energies in the fields of Recycling Management and Environmental Technology at Entsorga-Enteco 2009 in Cologne, Germany and take this as a motivation to support the region "Asia" for more...

CANADA TRADE MISSION TO Thailand
The Honourable Stockwell Day, Canada's minister of international trade and minister for Asia-Pacific Gateway, has led a trade mission to Thailand, the first ministerial visit in six years as the North American country seeks to regain its foothold here and in Southeast Asia.
Minister Day launched the trade mission before an audience of senior Canadian and Thai officials and business representatives in Bangkok. "We must take advantage of the Government of Thailand’s new energy strategy by showcasing Canadian expertise," said Minister Day. "This trade mission will help open doors for Canadian businesses that have an expertise in areas such as oil and gas exploration and production, natural gas vehicles, biomass energy, and wind, solar and nuclear energy." The Thai government’s new energy strategy, approved in January 2009, focuses on achieving greater energy independence and security through both conventional resources and alternative and renewable resources, such as compressed natural gas, bio-fuels and nuclear power.
In addition to having a growing number of Canadian businesses seeking a share of the energy market there; Thailand represents an important investment destination for Canadian companies. Canadian direct investment into Thailand has been increasing over recent years, reaching $1.3 billion at the end of 2008. As well, Canadian exports to Thailand also grew by 20 percent last year, particularly in the areas of machinery, wood pulp, cereals and vehicle parts.
biotecIasia as a local company with German key renewable energy solutions in the fields of Recycling Management and Environmental Technology is pleased to be part of this expanding and developing relationship between Thailand and Canada. |
